That's right folks, our dog was skunked.  She got a good 'ole spray right in the face from a black and white critter much different than herself.  It happened the night before we got home from vacation too, so the worst part is that two girls from church were the ones to have to deal with it.  Apparently, the smell came through the a/c unit and they ran out to bring the dog in, only to realize that SHE was the one who caused it.  We will forever owe them for washing her and fanning out the house, while putting up with the smell in the meantime.  Thanks girls!!

By the time we got home, it smelled like the skunk sprayed somewhere in the neighborhood rather than outside the back door, and getting near the dog didn't make you want to pass out.  Lola's now on bath #2 in yummy baking soda, peroxide, and Dawn.  Next up is to scrub down the a/c unit and see how far (if any) it has soaked into the walls and floors.  Good times. (should've stayed in florida)
