Benjamin - even your name brings a smile to my face. You are the perfect mix of sweetness and daring fun. You start each day with a huge smile and so much happiness - you may even be changing your mama into a morning person because I look forward to waking up to this. You are mommy's snuggle bug as daddy leaves for work and Drew for school, and you end the day the same way, wanting to snuggle as we rock and sing "sunshine." Daddy and I may fight over who gets to do this duty. ;) I love that you still call me "mama" even though da-da has turned to daddy and your vocabulary expands everyday, and I love that you use names so often. .."thank you mama", "bless you mama", "I'm hungry mama"... You are pretty obedient, making life easy, but you've got a little spunk in you too. You test the boundaries and every so often you refuse to listen, but easily come around with a "sorry mama." Maybe I will regret saying this later, but I like seeing a little of this in you because I think your determination is a special part of what makes you you. Hope we can steer it in the right direction. You are pretty outgoing with people and have captivated a number of our youth and church friends - which in turn means you have become one spoiled little boy, receiving great treats and plenty of attention. Lucky boy! I think the thing I adore most is your sweet relationship with your big brother. You love each other, play so well together, make each other giggle, and just make your parents so proud. I look forward to seeing you become a big brother as well and loving on your little sissy.
A few other things to remember about this stage you're in...
favorite foods: cheese sticks and clementines
favorite book: Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? (though must mention Goodnight Gorilla which lasted a good 9 months before being replaced)
favorite songs you sing: You Are My Sunshine, ABCs, Who's the King of the Jungle, Jesus Loves Me (really, you just loove to sing in general)
favorite toys: dinosaurs, cars, trains, puzzles, whatever your brother is playing
currently learning: your shapes and colors
Your birthday is here and you're transitioning from baby boy to toddler boy. Not sure I'm ok with that, but I don't get a choice. I love you and thank God for giving you to us - you will always be my baby who I thought I lost but was there all along - I feel like you were a gift I received twice. Happy 2nd (golden) birthday, special boy! xoxo
