I can't believe we are on year six. I can pull the whole granny " it seems like just yesterday" phrase, but seriously, it DOES seem like just yesterday this boy made me a mommy. And yet, at the same time, it seems like he's been with us forever. Maybe because the last six years have been jam-packed full of adventure and learning and the most wonderful memories.
Andrew Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Jelly Sandwich, you and your big adorable dimples make my world brighter. Lately what stands out is how perfectly you were picked for the role of the biggest brother in this family. Your cautious nature makes you the protector of your brother and sister wherever we go, your tender heart leads you to give hugs when one of them is sad or hurt. You often give up anything you have if you know it will make them happy, even if it's your last one. You get some of the brightest smiles out of Lil - she recognizes that your voice is safe and she's loved by you. How lucky those two are to have you as their biggest brother. Actually, include me in that too. - You have always been helpful, from the moment you were big enough to help, and I am thankful for that daily.
You, my lovebug (I am no longer allowed to call you that in public, btw), make me so proud - you have strong convictions, a gentle spirit, and a heart for Jesus. Maybe you should be a pastor like your daddy! haha- just kidding, not pushing you down a career path! Just the other night, you were at your buddy Carter's VBS and a woman we know said she loves to watch you sing because you praise the Lord with everything you've got. Your teacher said she could tell how much you enjoyed Bible class this year because your face lit up when it was time for hearing the Bible stories. I see those things in you too - I love it. You are so observant of others and things happening around you. You ask tough, thought-out questions a lot and in many ways challenge me. I learn so much from hearing your perspective on things - sometimes I think you are a sixty-year old man in a six-year old body! Then there is also the side of you that lets loose and dances and sings around the house and this makes me smile. Only few get to see this side of you, but it is perfection.
Here are some other things that you are up to...
Fav foods: donuts, strawberries, yogurt, steak
Fav toys: Beyblades, Ninjagos, Transformers, still superheroes
Fav books: Oooh, the high-quality stuff about anything mentioned in the above category. Also, the Oh, David! books
Fav activities: swimming, playing wii with daddy, basically anything outside (swinging, riding bikes, going to park/zoo/pool/Kings Island)
Fav TV shows: Power Rangers (who knew there were sooo many seasons??), Johnny Test, Phineas and Ferb

Happy birthday, my big six-year old boy ....the most ticklish kid I know! You climb up the dining room door frame like Spiderman himself, and belt out songs like Call Me Maybe and the Gummy Bear song to keep the rest of us laughing. You are crazy and cute and I love everything about you! I couldn't be more thankful that you're mine!!
