Along with starting kindergarten, Drew has also started playing soccer. He tried it out with a one-week soccer camp this summer, and since he liked it, we signed him up for the fall league. We now have busier week nights and a few hours on Saturdays devoted to the sidelines (rain or shine!), but most of all we have a six-year old who is having a ton of fun learning something new. With all that we do at church, even when it's fun for him, it still seems a little like daddy's work, so I think it's nice to have something that's just about him. He's so cute out there and we are so proud of him! With each week, he learns a little more and gets a little more aggressive. ...Now, if we could just keep Benny off the field and on the sidelines with us! :)
Here are some pics from his first game:
It was all good until he got hit hard in the stomach while playing goalie. He needed a moment in the pouring rain by himself to recover. ;)

And if you haven't put the pieces together, for me, this means....
It's official. Nail in the coffin. Mini-van driving soccer mom it is. If I'd been thinking, I'd have worn some of my skinny jeans because I am sure one day they will be as regrettable as the 90's "mom jeans."
