Benjamin, here is what you're doing right now:
You say "mama", "dada", and I'm pretty sure you've gotten out "ball" a few times. I think you also say your own version of "brother" -- you do love him! You like to wave hello and goodbye to everyone.
You're not quite walking. You've been walking with the help of our hands for about three months and have gotten up the courage to take a few steps at a time all by yourself (which makes you so excited!), but you need a little more coordination to keep going. Any day now!
You love to eat! Haha- sounds funny, but it makes life easy- you'll eat just about anything we give you. Favs are currently bananas, blueberries, eggs, and cheese sticks. You are drinking only out of sippies (Yay!- though not a difficult hurdle, you did not like bottles at all.) - milk or water. You're still kind of a stinker about wanting me to hold it for you like a bottle even though you have no problem stealing Drew's cups and holding them all by yourself.
Your favorite toy is your LeapFrog Scout dog. When he lights up and sings, you light up too. Actually, you love anything that plays music and you love to dance! You love your ball popper toy, wooden blocks, and whatever it is your brother's playing with. I think you really like your new train table and trains too!
You've been sleeping great at night for a long time now. You usually go down around 8pm and wake up between 7 & 8am. I thank you often for that! Naps are a little more of a challenge, but the noisemaker acquired from grammy's house has been our best friend.
You're a definite mama's boy. If mommy's in the room, you wave your hands all around until you're in my arms. Can't say I don't love it :) ...but I have no doubt that the daddy's boy days are coming (see brother for proof)!
We love you. We are so thankful for you. You make our hearts so happy. It's been a wonderful year getting to know and love you more each day. Happy birthday peanut. (enjoy that first taste of chocolate....)
