Mini-Blueberry Turnovers

I made these for my sister's shower and several people have asked for the recipe, so I am posting it on here. I just found it online somewhere and tweaked it.

4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4c. (plus extra for sprinkling) sugar
1 egg, separated
1 c. blueberries
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1. Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
2. Beat the cream cheese and sugar in a small mixing bowl until smooth.
3. Separate the egg yolk from the egg white. Mix the egg yolk in with the cream cheese mixture and place the egg white in a bowl for later use.
4. Lay the sheet of puff pastry on a flat surface and cut it into 9 small squares. Spoon on a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture down the center of each square from one corner to the opposite corner. Press the blueberries into the cream cheese. Fold the sides into the center, wet the points with a little water, and press tightly to seal.
5. Place the turnovers on the baking sheet, brush each with the egg white, and sprinkle lightly with sugar. Bake them for 15-17 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and serve warm.
