candy overload

It is the end of October, which means Halloween time.  Though we don't really get into it as a holiday much, I love a fun chance to dress up my boys and at least my oldest loves a chance to stock up on candy.  This year, we had five, yes FIVE, occasions and by the end I was pretty much over the partying and sugar highs.  Here are some pics to document...

stop one was the library, where we go for the weekly story time

...then we were off to church for an Awana fall party

...number three was just for Drew who got to have a little celebrating while at pre-school

...we all got in on the next one, which was the trunk-or-treat at our church

...though Ben didn't quite make it through the night.  He fell asleep in my arms and I laid him in all the comfy blankets in the trunk while I passed out candy.-- and don't call CPS, I promise I never left him alone or closed it!  :)

...and FINALLY, number five was the typical neighborhood trick-or-treat night.

(sweet neighbor friends!)

just along for a stroller ride (and this time he stayed awake!)

Phew!  By then, I was a little over it all.  We walked around with our neighbors for the first half and by then even the kids were ready to head back.  Drew likes handing out the candy as much as he does begging for it, so he was my little helper.

...and this kid's look was priceless when he finally discovered what was in the bowl.  I had to pry his little mittens off of it!  Oooh, maybe next year Ben.  ...or the next.
