Here's what he's up to at this point:
He loves to sing and dance around the house and he makes his brother laugh a lot. He already thinks it's great to blast the cd player in his bedroom - but who knows what goes on in there because "no adults allowed" (isn't that about 8 or 9 years too soon?). :) He still loves superheroes, pirates, and we've added Transformers to the mix. He has the best imagination ever for a kid and makes playtime fun for hours on end. He loves to play outside - whether it be in a pool, riding his bike (just got a big bike w training wheels from my parents for his bday!), or playing a variety of self-altered sports.
He loves strawberries, blueberries, yogurt, pepperonis, toast-with-the-man (cinnamon sugar on top), ice cream with sprinkles, donuts, and steak. We've realized we can name any meat 'steak' - chicken steak, fish steak, round steak (hamburger, no bun) and he will usually eat it. He lives off of milk here but is getting a little too used to Sprite as a special treat when we're out.
He's super shy with most people, but once you find a way to reel him in, he adores you forever. He's not shy around kids either. We were a little nervous when he first started pre-school, but he's made some great little buds and now usually finds a friend anywhere we go.
Every night, our last words are "Good night, I love you, Have a good sleep & I'll see you in the morning." Always in that order, always with a smile (and hug and kiss!), and usually with an extra "I love you mostest" thrown in there. It's now such a habit that I will definitely cry when it no longer occurs.
We're still not exactly sure what the next year holds (yeah, I know it's June, wanna add a little bit more stress?) - between public and Christian school, pre-kindergarten (with a summer "bubble" birthday) or kindergarten, currently a lot of unknowns for us - so while we have a strong leaning, we're praying we make the best decision to benefit Drew.
He's still saying a lot of funny things, apparently not just at our house. We have great neighbors next door with an almost 5-year old who has become his best buddy. Apparently, his mom heard over the baby monitor that her little boy was not being nice to her 3-year old daughter but Drew didn't let him get away with it. She heard him stick up for the little sis and tell his friend, "That does not make God happy!" haha- funny, and also a reminder to be careful what I say to the kid because it will for sure be repeated.
